CREATE is a networking event at the UTS Gallery on Tuesday 25 September 2012 6pm, that will place the Pyrmont and Ultimo business community on the creative collaborative map. The Chamber has been engaging with UTS, creative and businesses to showcase the wealth of talent that our precinct cultivates and to develop new opportunities for the creative industries to flourish. The event will feature two case studies of creative ideas and business and host a speed-dating networking event between 25 Creative and 25 Businesses.

The Sydney Morning Herald Growers' Market is held on the first Saturday of every month at Pyrmont Bay Park on Pirrama Road, from 7 am to 11 am. The market operates rain, hail or shine but is closed in January. There are around 80 stalls offering everything from fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables to lamb, beef, pork and seafood.

Enjoy coffee from one of our suppliers with a cooked breakfast - sausages, bacon and eggs, pastries or freshly baked bread with a selection of cheese or small goods, and your copy of the weekend Herald. Cooking demonstrations are held on the Growers' Market Chef stage at 8.30am and 9.30am. There is parking available at Star City at a discount rate of $10. Just get your ticket stamped at the Sydney Morning Herald information stall.

Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce will present their final business networking event for the year at the prestigious Sydney Seafood School at the Sydney Fish Market on Tuesday 19 November 2013. Join us to experience the talents of ten top Sydney TAFE apprentice chefs from the Tourism and Hospitality facility who will show off their creative talents and design and prepare a seafood canapé each from ten cooking stations for our invited guests.

 

Also joining us on the night will be the Short Sheep winemakers, who will taste you through their vineyards.  Tony Shadbolt & Sue Ridler look forward to introducing you to their wines, made in their Micro-Winery that reflect the variety and quality fruit their Mudgee vineyard produces.

 

The networking event will launch the Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce’s newest initiative the ‘Where the Locals Go’ – a Visitation Guide and a Shopping Guide to promote and feature the local businesses and unique tourism attractions that the Pyrmont peninsula has to offer.

 

Guest Speakers will be Bryan Skepper, General Manager, Sydney Fish Market, Anne Cazar, Chief Education Officer for Tourism and Hospitality, Sydney TAFE hosted by Lawrence Gibbons, President of the Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber. Past Events

Birds of Passage operate free food runs serving fresh restaurant grade food to the homeless since June 2012 and are constantly looking for new volunteers from all walks of life to help support their cause. 

 

They are also involved in organising corporate volunteer days and fundraising events.

Pyrmont Ultimo Landcare are a group of volunteers who aim to restore bushland to the city. They weed, plant natives indigenous to the Pyrmont peninsula and have a lot of fun, and welcome new volunteers!

The Friends of Pyrmont Community Centre present 'Christmas in Pyrmont'. Taking place on Sunday, 1 December. The brand new event will feature a street fair on John Street between Harris and Mount Streets. From 12 noon until 7pm, the Community Centre, John Street and John Street Square, will be packed with exciting activities and entertainment, including live music, a petting zoo and a jumping castle.

 

Local businesses are being invited to sponsor the event, in cash or kind, to help raise funds for the less-than-fortunate through charities Pyrmont Cares, YMCA Brightside and Animal Welfare League. Also, there are still a few spaces left for stallholders keen to support the community and promote their business.
